Jett

Jett is a purebred Shetland pony who was born just outside of Santa Cruz, CA. He is 7 years old and stands 10.2hh. With the exception of one white foot, he is solid black. A fiesty spirit, Jett was a show pony before he came to us and always in the ribbons.

He is a little powerhouse and can go and go tirelessly for hours; however, unlike Red, he does appreciate taking a well-earned break. Jett is the brightest of the bunch which can translate into mischeviousness, such as when he untied himself at a park one day and decided to take himself for a walk -- he was found a minute or two later in a prime grazing area and a big twinkle in his eye. We have grand schemes of turning his intellectual acuity towards performing clever tricks such as telling his age, answering yes/no questions, posing, bowing and the like.

Jett is fond of treats and can safely be handfed with a helper nearby. He enjoys attention and being petted, but he is a high-activity pony and wants to be on the move. We interpret his occasional impatience as a desire to make sure each child gets the most time in the saddle and that we are dawdling :) Jett has never met a person he doesn't like!
